Papino’s first opened its doors in the 80s, and exchanged many hands over years. The restaurant almost said its final goodbye in 2021 but someone just knew… this Hout Bay legacy deserved not just a second chance, but a new beginning.

That someone was the Jolly Cook, and the rest is history.

Our fresh starters set the scene for your evening. While we have your favourites, we also proudly serve traditional appetisers, just the way it was made back in the day.


All our steaks are the finest grain-fed cuts of meat that mature for a minimum of 30 days. Our meat supplier was established in 1893, and we are passionate about how meat is treated in the cold chain, how it is prepared and served to you.

Pizza & pasta

Our pizzas and pastas get special treatment at Papino’s. With bases made from the finest Italian flour, and only top-graded Italian tomato and mozzarella cheese you’ll say “Mamma Mia, delizioso!” after the first bite.


End off your evening with something sweet. We have a mix of treats, from Italy's finest to South African favourites.
